Flowers with Lace Gallery
Explanation

Whilst this work is instantly recognisable as to the subject matter. There are lots of considerations made which bought about this body of work. This is a continuation of my journey from Rustic pieces to the Dandelion Series to this. I love working with texture as it gives a tactile quality to the work. The reason for overlaying the image with lace is to quench a desire to add a fragility and sexuality to the pieces. It acts to stir emotions from within the viewer which sight alone cannot always do. Whilst the use of colour satisfies and provokes feeling the two elements together strengthen the feelings from deep within. This creates a greater response increasing the relationship between the work and the viewer.
